Florida 511 is the state’s official source for traffic and travel information. The system provides real-time alerts on crashes, construction, congestion, travel time increases, changes in traffic speeds and more.

FDOT offers five free platforms where you can access this information. Start by downloading the Florida 511 mobile app through Google Play or the Apple App Store. By using the new Drive Mode, drivers can quickly scan through all of the crashes, construction and congestion currently impacting their local area.

The next platform is the FL511.com website. Whether you visit the site, via desktop or mobile device, you can quickly create door-to-door routes and view FDOT traffic cameras to see incidents (if any) along your route. The interactive state-wide roadmap on the home page provides real-time information in English and Spanish about congestion, crashes, construction and weather alerts and forecasts provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Do you manage a specific daily tow route? By signing up for a My Florida 511 personalized services account on the website, you can have Florida 511 come to you. Create and save your door-to-door routes to favorite destinations and pick the days and times you want to be notified. You will receive a text message or email notifying you of crashes, construction, congestion, travel times and traffic speeds during the times you set in the system. Using the waypoints feature, you can modify your existing routes to account for new roadways or destinations.

You can also call 511 toll-free and ask for “traffic” to hear current conditions for a specific city, county or roadway. Ask “transfer my call” to be connected to one of the many partner agencies around the state, including airports, seaports and local transit agencies.

Finally, you can be a social media traffic reporter by following and retweeting from one or more of our the statewide, regional or roadway-specific Twitter feeds (#FL511).
